ࡱ> &(%7  bjbjUU &7|7|l  ~  $   ^ ^^^~ ^~ ^R^2 ~  0.J ~ 0 R ,u ^u ~ ^ AN INTRODUCTION TO COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT) Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd July 2008. 9:30 4:30 pm _________ Workshop Presenters: Francesca Waters and Rosie Donnelly Francesca has been a Senior Course Tutor with Belfast Cognitive Therapy Centre for five years and is thoroughly familiar with the subject material. She is accredited with both BACP and BABCP and is currently completing her Chartership as a Counselling Psychologist. Francesca will be assisted, where necessary, by Rosie Donnelly. Rosie is a recent BCTC graduate and current Course Coordinator. The workshop includes clinical demonstrations, group work exercises and discussion of client work problems. It is intended that the workshop will be user friendly, informative and fun! Workshop Objectives: Increase understanding of the evolution of the two other major therapeutic traditions and of how CBT is indebted to them for its evolution. Develop an understanding of CBT as a therapy and of how/ why and when it is used in client work Learn about the evidence base for the efficacy of CBT and, in view of the relative youth of CBT, some of the work remaining to be covered Understand both cognitive and behavioural factors and their role in CBT Consider the crucial role of emotion and the alliance in CBT Develop a beginning understanding of the use of CBT with Panic and Depression _________ General Information: Light refreshments available. Lunch is not included but there are a variety of food outlets nearby. Fee per 2 day workshop: 125 + VAT, payable on or before Friday 27th June 2008.
